About Justine Pulver

I am a Consultant Forensic Psychologist based in Haywards Heath near Brighton, Sussex.

My practice is divided into a three main areas: I work clinically directly with clients providing face to face therapy and therapy online (using zoom); and as supervisor and trainer for other professionals, and as an Expert Witness for courts and the Parole Board.

I have nearly 30 years experience working with women, men and teenagers in private practice, hospitals and other institutions including prisons, supporting people to come to terms with past events and helping make changes in their lives.

I have a warm, empathic style and have been told that I am able to put people at ease when talking about difficult issues. Some clients come with a very clear sense of what is wrong, and what they would like to change, others just know that they are not happy with aspects of their lives, and feel they have no idea where to start to make things better. All my work starts with an assessment to clarify these issues.

I specialise in helping people with complex difficulties, many people have been experiencing difficult feelings or patterns of behaviour for a number of years. Many of my clients have seen counsellors or other therapists before and feel their difficulties remain. I do of course also work with clients who are experiencing more discrete or short-term difficulties.

I work with clients both individually and in groups, and am trained in a range of therapies including:

  • Schema Therapy
  • EDMR
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

I am an experienced clinical supervisor, providing supervision for other clinicians including chartered psychologists, psychologists in training and other therapists. I also provide training in a range of areas including risk assessment, working with personality disorder and developing therapeutic skills.

I am a Chartered with, and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) the regulatory body for Psychologists in the UK.
